Somersett residents demonstrated once again what a generous community this is by donating the most items out of all of FirstService Residential-managed properties in Northern Nevada during the recent FirstService Residential School Supplies drive to benefit Virginia Palmer Elementary in Sun Valley.

Here’s what Somersett contributed:

  • 54 (10 packs) pencils
  • 59 (10 packs) pens
  • 67 (5 packs) markers
  • 59 composition notebooks
  • 76 boxes of crayons
  • 101 (2 packs) glue sticks
  • 166 reams of copy paper
  • 35 packs of construction paper
  • 45 scissors

On Friday, FirstService Residential representatives delivered items collected in the drive to Virginia Palmer. Students laughed as they looked through the bags of scissors, construction paper and crayons, while educators were astounded at the huge piles of copy paper. “We go through a lot of that,’’ a teacher commented.

Principal Raegan Virgil and counselor Derek Hughes helped unload the supplies and extended a big thank you to all who contributed.

Virginia Palmer Elementary is now stocked up and ready to get on with the important business of educating students, bolstered by the knowledge that Northern Nevada communities care.

A special shout out to Toll Brothers and Ryder Homes for their generous contributions!
