Slurry seal project begins; Canyon Nine closed on Wednesday, May 2
Sierra Nevada Construction is applying a slurry seal on Somersett’s asphalt trails. The first phase of the project involves trails below Morgan Point – Silver Willow Trail, Pump House Access Road, and the Town Center residential trail – then the trails within Canyon Nine (the course will be closed on Wednesday, May 2), and sidewalks in Area 3 and 4 (shaded green and yellow on this slurry seal project map). All work is weather permitting.
The slurry seal corrects rough spots, is aesthetically pleasing and provides a durable, long-lasting seal that extends the life of the asphalt.
The next phase of the project will include the remaining asphalt trails – including those along Somersett and Del Webb parkways – as well as private streets. The dates for this phase are TBD.
