Eva Stramer Nichols emigrated from Denmark to the Monterey Peninsula in 1988. Inspired by the natural beauty of the California landscape she soon started painting. The luminosity of watercolors totally captivated her, and it has become her favorite medium. Soon she started exhibiting and Eva has evolved into an award-winning watercolor artist and instructor best described as an “impressionist colorist” inspired by nature.
Since moving to Truckee in 2010, Nichols has won numerous awards, and she was recently awarded Community Education Instructor of the Year 2013-14 by Truckee Meadows Community College. She is a member of the ARTisan Shop at North Tahoe Arts in Tahoe City, and several galleries in California and Nevada represent her.
